Took a 2-up ride yesterday and couldnt even tell the pillion had been on the bike at all.
I also did a test run with the giant mousepad this past weekend.
[ul][*] giant mousepad[*] two-up seat[*] wife on the back[*] 652 mile run (Johnstown Thunder in the Valley)[*] lots of rain
[/ul]
Same result.... couldnt even tell the two-up seat had been on the bike.
I recently bought the touring seat also and you are right subculture08, it is comfortable. I was going to go with your idea of a big mouse pad to protect the fender but I had none at home so I went to plan B. I cut up one of those soft, spongy, beer huggies and glued the pieces to the bottom of the seat in several areas. It does the job. Besides, when I'm drinking beer it never stays in the can long enough to get warm. Thanks for the idea, I never considered what the seat might do to the fender until I read your post.
