It's a 16 1/2" driver seat and a 12" passenger seat. The passenger seat can be removed with one bolt.
You can also get this seat without the back rest.
maddghost, great idea on reversing the bolts. I'll have to try that. Do you still use the backplate behind the fender? I would assume so since it spreads the tension out so the fender holes where the screws are don't flex too much. Next time you take the bags off or on post some pics!
No more backplate because then you would then have to thread your long bolts through those back plates. Here is a link to the how-to I posted a while back with pics. you'll love this mod .....I know I do! Cheers!
Also make sure to read Dpreist's post underneath mine,I used my bolt idea and his esthetic idea with the black spacers.
That is what seat I want to put on mine. Looks great. How is the comfort especially for passenger?
I have that same seat and my 16yr old daughter said the seat is fine. But her feet still fall asleep from the buzzing in the footpegs. I do not know why Harley would mount them to the damn swing arm....
I tied a mustang seat and it really didnt do it for me, I ended up with a Corbin, it is perfect !
I do have the ghost brackets, they are great for getting the bags off, but I do hate the gap that is in there and how far they put the bags out from the bike...
Last week I put on the Mustang Vintage seat with back rest. This week I added the hard mounted bags. This thing is starting to look like a touring Fat Bob.
Some day I'll order a Ghost Bracket. It was a real pain in the a$$ to install these hard mounted bags by myself last night. Getting the treads started without the bag falling or the back plate falling is almost impossible by yourself.
I'm not sure what mods I want to add next. I would love to put some V&H Short Shots on her but I really like the tommy gun cut away pipes.
Great looking setup? Do you remember if the mustang sits you higher, lower, forward or back compared to the stock seat?
Great looking setup? Do you remember if the mustang sits you higher, lower, forward or back compared to the stock seat?
higher and farther forward. but its worth it and after a couple weeks you will forget all about it. im 6'4 and was worried about it, but like i said its really not that big of a deal.
You have part numbers for the driver and passenger seat, with the rests and rack?
No but they should have them at any HD dealership. I originally bought the kit that includes the detachable windshield, detachable rack and the pad.
For the seats check the Dennis Kirk web site for the driver and passenger seats. DK is a lot cheaper than going directly to Mustang. Oh - I also bought the sissy bar pad from DK that goes with the Mustang set.
