I ride with a windowshield local, but on trips or freeway the windshield is on, I have the detachable windshield, and I love it,
wild Wally, found a cycle repair place to do the work to remove the mid-shift at a good price,
Most of the guys I ride with don't use a windshield and sort of scoff at them - especially for riding around town, so I hadn't seriously considered getting one until recently. A girlfriend of mine who has a windshield convinced me that I needed one. I don't miss those bugs and stones in the face one bit. And I don't feel beat up from the wind after a taking a long ride like I used to. Definitely worth the $$$. [sm=smiley20.gif]
the key word is detachable ...
I like riding with it and with out
if i go to deep creek lake or ocean city which is a 3 hour trip then its worth it
PLUS when I get there it comes off in seconds so I too can be big daddy poser[sm=smiley2.gif]
My parts manager was very carefull to tell me exactly how to mount it "so I would not break it" Not sure if this is old news or not but he was very adamant that I should loosely mount the clamps to the windshield...clamp all 4 clamps to bike, sso they are properly aligned and then tighten the bolts that secure the clamps to the windshield.
