Default wide tire on a Super Glide 2003

Hi guys,

I recently bought a 2003 Super Glide. Now I want to install a wide tire on it (180). What are the possibilities?

If you have cool links to customized Dyna sites you can also post them.

Thx,

De (from Belgium)

I dont think it will fit under the fender, as it is pretty tight under the newer wider fenders.

Also pretty sure your rear wheel is narrower than the newer Dynas, so it wouldnt be a safe mount.

what about a 160? you can probably fit that under your fender as it sits.

on mine is alreay (standard) a 150 (Dunlop 150/80 B 16). So I think a 160 will fit but I would rather like a 180.

Are dyna models in the USA standard equiped with a 130 or a 150 tire?

You would have to install a wide tire kit... And change the rear fender.

De79,

First of all welcome to the forum from the Netherlands. This is the place to be: lots of interesting info and helpful people who share the same passion...their Dyna!!

When I look at my 2003FXD I don''t think you can mount a 180 tire to your 2003 Dyna without changing the swingarm and fender (7 1/2 inch to 8 1/2 inch). You will have to set off the inner primary and the front pully too. Dyna models frames (included swing arm) changed in 2006; these frame accept 180mm tyre.

To give you an idea what's in the wide tire kits check these links
