Granted, I've gotten a little thick myself, but my wife's a little thicker. I would like to move her back 3-4 inches. I have a detachable backrest from HD with an HD pad on it. Does anyone know a backrest that would have an offset of @ 2-3"(about the tickness of the pad)? Thinking just now.....I guess I could get another taller backrest, bend(and brace) it just as it comes out of the bracket as far back as desired 4"? Any thoughts?
just googled this subject and this was the first pic that had what I was looking for. Notice the passengers backrest how its set back...well behind the seat. There's still plenty of seat for the passenger and the backrest is set further back. Any Help?
You may have to fab a backrest. Never heard of anything like you're requesting.
Thats kinda the way I'm leaning to. I appreciate the response....especially with 5000+ posts. I'll probably fab it today. I've got the afternoon off...I'll see what I can come up with.
Did you try taking the existing pad off and both of you sit on the bike to be sure that moving back will help? She can only go so far back on the seat, too...
I've used the QD sideplates to make 2 racks for my bike; they're a good way to fab something, for sure...I also used two pieces of reddi-rod with some nuts and large washers to hold it all in position when it's off the bike and you're ready to tack it up. If you have to buy plates, flat black ones are easier to work with than chrome (if available).

Make me one too while your at it! The wife never was able to loose the PG fat. I can't leave the riders back rest on when we ride 2up cause it gets in the way. I'd love to have something to scoot her back a couple inches. Make sure to post up the results!

Going to start on it this evening. At lunch today, went to the local steel resource and picked up (4) 5' pieces of 5/8 round solid rod. $18.00 Good start!!

Pardon the "REALLY" crude drawing, but this is what I'm trying to do. Should gain me 3-4" of room. Could probably even go as far as 5-6" if I needed it.
