Default Winter Mod Ideas - Black Shocks

Greets all,

Have not been on here in awhile - too busy ridin' I am happy to say...

BUT, just put the bitch to bed for the winter.

I want to paint my fender guards black this winter, and would maybe like to change to black shocks.

What is the stock shock length for the 2007 Street Bob? Progressive makes the 412 in HD black....what length matches stock?

Has anyone tried to paint their stock shocks black themself? Is it easy? Worthwhile?

Hope everyone has a great off-season....

You can always go with an aftermarket shock, or you can dismantle the stock shocks and get them powder coated. Below is a link to a thread about my dismantling of the stock shocks (ive yet to get them coated) hope this helps.

Stock length is 12". If you want to quicken up the steering a tad you could increase the length, i went to 12 1/2" and it does help the bike turn in a little easier.
