Default Terminal clamp struggle

I bought the lay down plate / turn signal relocate package for my new FXDI 35. Being somewhat mechanically inclined (restored 4 old BMW's) I thought I could complete this task in 20 minutes and two beers. Well it only took 15 minutes to do 95% of it. Getting the wires out of those friggin clamps took 3 hours. Yep, 3 hours. I finally got so pissed off I rode the bike to my dealer who is very close by. The mechanic laughed and said " I'll have them out in 3 seconds" 20 minutes later he had them off but he had to give me new clamps because he destroyed them getting the wires out. Actually I destroyed one of them, but he destroyed the other one. What the F@#%* kind of deal is that ? Has anyone else had this problem ? Can any one give me any suggestions if I ever have to remove one again ? I still don't understand the concept. The old bikes all use terminal blocks with set screws. You loosen the screw and pull the wire out. That concept must be to simple. These new terminals are worse4 then a F@#%ing rubic"s cube ! I never did get my two beers !

jackson, I fiddled with them for an hour probably,
once you get it they are very easy.
Once you get it.

Here is the suggestion you ask for:

This is what I do now.

The terminals are 95 cents ea.

Pick up new ones before you start the project,
then destroy the originals removing the wires.

Pay attention to which wire comes out of which receptacle,
as well as the orientation of the flat side of the pin/socket.

Mine came out real easy. My pain was the existing wires were to short and I had to wait till the next day to run and get more wire to splice and shrink tubing.[sm=headbang.gif]
Oh ya, and the wife going "Why do you always have to do things yourself? It would have been done if you took it to the dealer." Not sure which was worse.
After all these years she still doesn't get it.
