1. I have a 09 FXDL and decided not to spend the $400.00 for the factory alarm. I was wondering what you guys were using for locking up your bikes during overnight stays while out of town. I looked into the Kryptonite cable locks but hear stories of these being easily cut with bolt cutters. Any suggestions?
2. Also is anyone using an outside temperature gauge that doesn't look to ridiculous considering there aren’t many placed to mount it. I have seen all types of mounts and all ranges of prices for these things. I know, I’ll feel if it’s cold or hot, but I just got used to having one.
I park as close to the front door as possible, usually under the entry over hang, then rely on the factory alarm & siren, with the forks & the ignition locked.
I got a factory alarm off Ebay for @ $100... it's a module that swaps out with the turn sig module. For the siren you could go with one from Radio Shack for less than $10... I went with the factory siren, for another $100 (that was before I heard @ the Radio Shack option).
I love not messin' with the key when I get off the bike.
