I wrestled with the same question, Fatcat v Thunderheader but fortunately I made the right decision Just kidding!
Seriously, good luck with your build. The Thunderheader is a real nice pipe.

gonna have to get rid of "sounds like a lawnmower" in your signature now.
I still have to get the TTS as well as make up my mind on an intake. I bet that will take me another 3 weeks!
If anyone knows of a place to get a dirt cheap TTS let me know.
I know the choice has been made. Just wanted to say my riding buddy with 103 has 2 into 1 Thunderheaders, He loves them. I went for the D&D Fat Cat and I am very happy. The look, the finish, the sound!!! His Thunderheaders are distinctly louder than the Fat Cats. We compare often....I too think you will be happy with your choice. The debate will never end. My Pipes are in better shape cosmetically than his after about the same length of time though.
I was going to go with the black ones, but then I figured if I get the chrome and hate the look, or if the finish is that bad and I don't want to re chrome them that I could always paint them black/wrap them with tape.
The guy I bought my pipes from said he has never heard of the TTS before... I wonder how much work he actually does on these bikes!
When comparing the sound, keep in mind that your friend has a bigger motor (103") in his bike than you do. This will also effect the sound.
