Welcome. You are getting a great bike although I'm slightly biased. As far as exhausts go, anything you like the look and sound of will be fine. V&H make great pipes and there are plenty of others to choose from as well which you'll get advise on here soon about. What are you wanting to get out of an exhaust?
Which V&H?
Big Radius on a CVO.... probably ok.
Short Shots on a CVO.... no way! That'd look cheap as he**.
hey hey, i wouldnt really say that short shots will look cheap on the fat bob, i dont think any pipe would look bad on that bike. besides its a fat bob hes looking at in my eyes nothing else in the harley lineup compares to that bike!
I have the same CVO engine setup and my Wide Glide came with the same "tommy gun" exhaust as yours. After trying the SE slip-ons (for about 30 miles) I went with the V&H Sideshots. Both are great pipes, slight power improvement with the V&H (not worth the switch IMHO for just power) and the V&H pipes are MUCH louder (about 15-20 decibels), but they are also much lighter and there is no CAT. Its a very personal choice, you really can't go wrong.

Thanks guys, I want more sound just not loud, I was looking at the V&H Big radius but I was scared the it would be too loud. I was also looking at the Martin Brothers Fat Daddies 2 into 1 but I didnt seem like many of you are running the Martin Bros.
I actually love the way stock pipes look on the FXDF. I guess the pipes are the same on the CVO version as stock? I've never seen other pipes on the FXDF I like better.
Stock IS really quiet, but man when you romp on the accelerator the stock pipes bark like a trumpet in a very appealing way, I've never heard anything like it and miss it.
I put on Screamin' Eagle slip-ons and for me they're perfect, louder than stock, nice rumble (and with a nice snarl that came through after I put on the Heavy Breather). After a thousand miles or so they were just what I wanted. Neighbors don't mind. Very happy with them.
