HID conversion kit, thinking of pulling the trigger
Dyna Glide ModelsSuper Glide, Super Glide Sport, Super Glide Custom, Dyna Glide Convertible, Super Glide T-Sport, Dyna Glide Police, Dyna Switchback, Low Rider, Street Bob, Fat Bob and Wide Glide.
I was wondering if anyone has had experience with this kit? I've pretty much come to the conclusion that I will try to mount it to the frame on the brake side of the backbone (ballast only 1/2 inch thick). If it doesnt fit there, I'll just mount it to the bottom of the tank on the same side (in the large tank indent). I've talked to their customer service and they said its 100% plug and play.
My questions are, if you've had experience with this kit, does it simply plug into the multilock connector for the head light to supply the power for the ballast? and is there really any point in going with the bi-xenon bulb for high and low function (does it still operate with the handle bar switch? Also, am I looking at a night and day difference between HID and stock?
I've already tried the sylvania ultra bulbs, but it didn't cut it, at all. Better than stock, but still poor.
Ask about the measurements and than mock it up. Ask yourself if that is what you wish to hang of of your bike. I have done many of them and I do not wish that type of physical set up. save your self some time and mock it up prior to purchasing. You can get a kit with the ballast hidden between the gas tank and frame, Search the posts here and you can see the photos.
