Been thinking to buy a corbin seat, for long journeys.I really need the driver's backrest.
But the passenger's pillion that goes with solo seat, looks to...small and the dual seat looks too...ugly?
This opinion is from site pictures
Any pics or opinions would be more than helpfull!!
I wasn't too thrilled with the looks of the Dual Tour online, but I love it on the bike, both the looks and the comfort. My gal loves it to death. I have never used the back rest myself, don't feel I need one.
Thanks guys!
Sorry for bothering you for second time,Robert!
They do look better in real life pics!
I actually like the looks, but even if I didn't, a seat is function over form if you plan on going any further than a local bike night, IMO. Nothing makes a long trip more miserable than a crappy seat. Corbins are love-them-or-hate-them, they're very firm and heavy, but for me they work the best. I've tried a Sargent seat on a different bike, and a Sundowner as well as the stocker on this bike, and the Corbin always works the best for me. The heated option is nice too when it's chilly, or at the end of a long ride to soothe sore muscles (think heating pad). I probably wouldn't have paid the extra $$$ for it, but I got the seat on clearance from Corbin.com for $250. Check that page, sometimes they have insanely good deals.
Also, check Ebay for driver's backrests. I got mine for a fraction of the price of a Corbin backrest (theirs are completely overpriced) and it works great. It can be used in the driver or passenger position since I don't use a sissy bar and it's angle adjustable.
I have a corbin Hollywood solo! LOVE IT against all that tried to talk me out of it because they said it was too hard and took too long to break in. MY *** is fat and happy on it. I don't have the back rest but borrowed a buddy's and rode for a day. That thing brought me up closer to the bars. If i'm not imaginining things I think I even enjoyed u turns!!! haha no seriously.. I love my seat!
Here is my wife's Corbin Classic Solo w/ driver's backrest pillion on her '08 Super Glide. Wicked nice quality but after 4000 miles, it's still kinda hard....maybe she needs to gain a few pounds to soften it. I like the studs on it. up.
