Just finished mine up. Works awesome and looks awesome. The gas cap took about 10 mins with prep and eveything. The fuel gauge one the other hand took about an hour. I put more heat shrink on the exposed wire and had to have my buddy hold the tank up for me while I disconnected the connector and got it out of the clamp. Figured out how to de-pin it and then it was pretty quick going in and re-pinning the connector. Only problem, the instructrion diagram had the pins backwards. After disconnected and de-pinning I re-pinned the way I thought it should go and it actually works now. The way the diagram had it, Only the fuel pump light was on.
I have a 96 custom softail with a fat bob tank. The one side cap is a dummy, I fill from the right side. Problem is I get about 90-100 miles and I have to go to reserve. Fuel doesn't seem to feed from left tank. I pulled the crossover line on both sides and fuel comes out of the line. Any idea why fuel isn't going from one tank to the other?
I have the black set on my '10 WG and it really took about 15-20 minutes to put in. Pretty easy. Most of that time was spent being careful while fishing the wires up through the bottom side of the tank for the guage so I would not scratch anything.
Very straighforward, no scratches, no gripes about the part. I've had in on there for about 1200 miles now and no fluctuations. I will mention I got the new part # with the "A" on the end, so that's probably why. If you decide to get these from Ebay, the "A" part is hard to find there, because nobody wants to take them off thier bikes, they work. Just make sure you get the right part # & you're golden.
