Of course we can change the font murph.
I first posted this concept gauge cluster about a year ago,
butt, still have not changed the font.
I springboarded the cluster off the XR1200 Prototype machine.
The final production XR1200 cluster is shown in the picture at the end of this posting..............

Don't know why they gave you the light hommes.
Makes absolutely no sense to me.
A wild guess,
could be the same reason some machines have the clutch interlock
and/or the kickstand interlock.
Protecting people from theirownselves (it IS 2009).
I'm going to propose a reverse gear with backup alarm *beep* *beep* *beep*

You don't want to "lug" the motor in any gear ... and the consensus here is that you should know what gear you are in w/o the light ... so why the light for 6th?

Mmm I like Muds inovative ideas...[back-up alarm] Mud can you make me one? I also want a HUD on my helmet visor with a backup camera display, night-vision, RR-124 chaff to support my electronic-counter-measures, and lets not forget the thing that started it all..... gear indicator. I want the low RPM alarm too.

Mud....with all these requests comin' in for innovative products your gonna be able to name your island....St. Barts, Maui, Fiji...I could go on.
