I hang out in the touring section currently riding an 08 Street Glide and a 2010 Ultra.
I have to tell you that the new Dyna Wild Glide has caught my attention big time. That is a beautiful bike and I'm thinking seriously about getting one.
I have yet to ride one and before I make my final decision I curious what your overall opinion is on the Dyna vs the Softail models like the Fat Boy.
I'm not a fan of the rigid mounted/counter balanced motor , at all . Softails look cool , but that's about it . I love the Dynas , they really are the do it all bike in Harley's line up . Rubber mounted motor just like your bagger , so if you're a fan of that , then you'll feel right at home on the Dyna . Good luck , and post some pics, of what ever you decide on !
those two bike are a tough decision! I think I favor the wideglide, however, if your gonna add some saddlebags, The way you have to relocate the taillights is fugly! Also the fatboy looks incredible with a black front end and pipes.
I don't think you could lose either way you go. Both are really nice bikes. It is really a matter of put putting around on them both and figuring the best balance of the fell and the style for your individual preferences.
(I know that is the generic response but it is the absolute truth)
I owned nothing but softails up until I got the Wide Glide. Let's see...handles better, seems faster (same engine, just less overall weight), and more fun to ride. When I'm done with this one it'll be hard for me to go back to a softail.
My nephews 02 fat boy only wants to go in one direction... Strait. I was a little shocked at how bad the handling was compared to my WG. JasonL is correct about the Twink "B". More sht to fix inside those. Rubber mount and a swing arm... two thumbs up.
Many thanks to all of you for the replies. That is pretty much what I was looking for. I kid my buddies a lot with softails when we are at a traffic light and their bike is not shaking. Of course a few perfer that and tell me they would never own anything else.
Jason you have a beautiful bike!
I love the look of the Wide Glide over any of the softails and if I can swing one this spring I plan to. I'll keep you posted. This will be a bare bones bike to ride local when I go solo.
