Default Switched from Softail to Dyna

I bought a 2012 Softail Slim last year because I loved the retro bobber look. It was a great bike, but from the get go I had buyer's remorse and I should have gone with my gut and bought a Dyna Wide Glide.

So a couple weeks ago, I saw an ad for a 2010 Dyna Wide Glide on the net. It had the right mileage, the colour and specs I wanted, and the right price. I negotiated a good trade price and the Dyna is now being delivered to me, hopefully it'll be here later this week. Pics below.

Great looking bike and like the set up. You will love the glide for sure.

i went from a deuce to a streetbob, and i'm not mad that i did. i really like those wideglides too...if it weren't for the old school bobber look of the streetbob, i would most likely be riding a wideglide. congrats on going with your heart and getting what fits you best. enjoy the new one!

Yeah, I can't wait to get on the bike. How does a Dyna feel different to a Softail?

my deuce seemed really top heavy and didn't maneuver as well. i know it seems weird, but the dyna just seems so much more compact and part of me...so to speak. The level of control is so much better. I loved my deuce when i had it, but now having the dyna and being able to directly compare the two, i just prefer the streetbob more.

Interesting swap, I really like the Slim and gave it serious consideration before buying the Street Bob.

A few things you'll notice right away.
The Dyna engines aren't counterbalanced so you'll feel more vibes than you did on the Slim.
The forward footpegs give you a lot more legroom than the floorboards on the Slim.
The suspension, although not great shocks, gives more feedback than any Softail.

This may be somewhat subjective but, IMHO, the Dyna has more of a sport feel. I had owned baggers and sportsters before getting a dyna. I always liked the sportster better to ride curvy roads and play with. The baggers were more comfortable for a trip. The Dyna, to me, is the best of both worlds. Kiind of a sport feel that you can slap some bags on and take a trip with. Best HD I have ever had. I'll bet you'll like it. Have fun with it.

Went and looked at 2 bikes yesterday. 10 WG and 09 SG. Both bikes tires were shot to **** from sitting so long and being worn, so riding was not telling much. Id say that was only issue with wg. But the SG custom seemed kinda top heavy and rode like a tank. Was not nimble and maneuverable in the least bit, which I found surprising, and disappointing.
Theres one more bike in his price range that we might check out today, which is an 07 wg. has 36k miles and looks to be in good condition. also has stage 1 so that will save money over the newer stock 10 wg.
