Default 180 SE tire kit

is the switch to the 189 SE tire kit worth the cost on my 09 streetbob, any preformance gain, ride quality. Is it worth the extra cost over the stock 160 tire when its time to change the rear tire?

If I am honest with myself, I can't tell any difference......other than it looks good as a bitch filling up the fender.

Do a search about just getting the tire and not spending the extra money on the kit.

Another option is the Pirelli 180 Night Dragon:

Info below regarding the Screamin Eagle 180.

I thought they made a 180. They also say they won't install anything but a 160, what it's called for. How do I get a 180 for a 06 streetbob?
The Dunlop / Harley Davidson 180 is made specifically for the stock width (narrow) rim and is only available through Harley Davidson dealers because Dunlop only makes it for Harley Davidson. I don't think there is anything else out there that fits the stock width (narrow) rim yet.

Try shopping at Zanotti's or Chicago Harley for parts, and find yourself another dealer or independent shop if your not doing the work yourself. More info below:

Tire rides better, handles better, but wears faster, in my opinion. Still I wouldn't have anything else on mine based on looks, fitment, and ride. The kit secures the wires to keep them from rubbing against the tire. If you can secure the wires and are comfortable that they are secure, there is no need for the kit. I've had mine well over a year without the kit with no problems. As far as only being able to buy the tire through a HD dealer, that may be true but, if it is, my indy must have ordered mine through a HD dealer and sold it to me because he ordered it and installed it for me cheaper than the dealer would have and he was willing to do it without the kit and the closest dealer was not.

Regardless of what else you can make fit, the SE 180 remains the only 180 that was designed specifically for the 06 and up dyna stock rear rim size.
