Well..... I checked out the bike and did not make an offer. Here are the concerns: 1. the glass on the speedo was 'foggy' as in just not 100% clear. 2. the front break cylinder was totally a mess, most of the paint was either bubbled up or gone and touched up with something that was not quite right. 3. Signs of rust starting at the very back of both the front and rear fender, bubbling under the paint, no rust visible but it was gonna come through. All of that and they were firm on the 10k price, I really wanted to get them down to 9k, at 10 it just did not quite seem like the best deal, although it is still a good price for this area.....gotta love the DC/NOVA area
Take it slow... If your Holding cash your in a great position"buyers market".
unfortunately people are hurting right now
I just Picked up an 01 dyna Low Rider with 11,000 miles in immaculate condition for 5,300... guy had all the service work done with the paperwork from an HD dealer.....
Definitely look around for some better deals! I was at my dealer last night for their midnight madness sale and they had a few 2009 leftovers marked down to some nice #'s! Example, brand new 2009 night train, red hot sunglo, wheel option, security, $13,800! Deals are out there but you have to look for them.

Thanks, I'll keep looking. That is a nice bike in your sig!

Good!! That bike doesn't sound like it was taken car of at all. Makes you wonder about the internal workings. Mine is an 08 and still looks like it rolled off the show room floor and no seaping anywhere. What Red said for a few more g's you can have something that is yours from the beginning. That was for a night train too which is generally more then a SB. Imagine the SB price if you find that deal??

Thanks monkey boy. Just keep your eyes open, there's a lot of deals out there. With the end of the year coming, dealers are trying to get rid of their leftovers and trade ins. I've seen brand new leftover '09s selling for less than used '09s of the same model! Take your time and shop around.
i basically stole mine from a police auction. 5800 bucks for an 08 with 1500 miles on it.
if you dont mind doing a little work (mine needed a new front fender, and some minor body work done to the tank, new right mirror and the speedo was cracked) you can pretty much steal a bike from a local police auction and have yourself a pretty nice winter project.
my bike as is in my sig pic, i have 6400 dollars in it including purchase price.

That's what I'm talking about!! Damn that's a steal!

dude you have no idea. my guess is some asshat came up to a red light/stop sign too fast and laid the bike over to the right. the mirror was cracked, tank was scratched and dinged, shock had a small scratch in it, and the front fender was mangled, and the bars bent up. he probably got scared and turned the bike over and that's all she wrote. look at the pics in my album, it looks like i rolled the bike off the showroom floor in 08 and kept it in pristine condition.
after all the mods i'm doing this winter, i'll be on the bike i want, the way i want it, for about 8500 - 9000.

That's awesome!! I think that's where I'm looking next when it's time for a project bike. You'll be set and we got the same bike and I got over double what you'll have invested and still not done. I'm jealous!!
