Default Parts older than '06

My God I am so sick of looking at parts and seeing "Fits Dynas '06 und up." And if I find something that is for the pre '06 Dyna, it is for Wide Glide only. Where did you guys buy parts before 2006? LOL. Must have fabricated everything yourselves?

Same here.... i want to know why 04-05 seats wont fit 06 and up superglides?
I bought a set of highway peg brackets from a 2003 Dyna that bolted right up? what is different about the sissybar? Are the bolts farther apart? is the fender that much wider?
Can anyone answer these questions?

Same problem here. Can't answer all your questions but... HD made "major" frame change to SG's starting in 06 that's why the seats aren't interchangeable between those years. Yes, sissy bar bolts are futher apart...

OH please! You people at least have passenger pegs that are mounted to the frame instead of the swingarm! Try listening to someone behind complain about the vibration and knowing there is nothing you can do about it but buy an older bike for 'em to sit on....

I think it's kind of the opposite.

The 05- bikes are better supported by nearly every aftermarket supplier than the +06.

Belt Drives, Wheels, Brakes, Tires, 39mm Fork parts, Carbs, Carb to EFI conversions, Seats, Instruments, Batteries, Battery Box covers, 88" cam upgrades, exhaust.....you name it.

I guess if you are looking at the "Genuine Motor Accessories catalog" you could get the impression +06 is better supported, but who buys that junk anyway?

I've got news for you all........ Daughter bought a 2006 Heritage Softail Classic in October of 2008. Tried to order a Complete Chrome Front End, part # 46334-06 for it. DISCONTINUED.....the dealer says. Sure enough. Cant order one through a dealer. We were lucky to find on IN STOCK at a dealer in Florida. Tried to get a set of SEII slip on's pre 2006..... part 80448-03. Not made anymore. These are the ones with the deep rumble. After 2006, the EPA cracked down on emissions, and those pipes couldnt be ordered or installed by a Harley Dealer anymore. We were lucky did find a NEW pre-2006 set at a Harley dealer in Oregon. So, if you want genuine HD parts that fit your bike, better get them while the getting's good. With the way the economy is going, they may not stock much of anything beyond a couple model years. Ebay can be your best friend in getting certain parts. Look at my Low Rider. Bike's been discontinued.....and you can bet ordering original parts for it will also be hard to do very soon.

It's hard. I try to find part numbers from poeple on here and google search the hell out of it. Once you have a legitimate p.n. you can order from Zanotti or ebay.
