Default suggestions for a comfortable ride

I am thinking of getting a Dyna. Realizing this is a personal preference question but I would like some first hand feedback on which bike offers the best comfort and handling combo between the Super Glides and the Street Bob. I want mid mounts on my bike. Thanks for the advice. Brent. By the way, I am currently riding a Street Glide.

I think the glides and the s-bob probably ride and handle about the same now that they have the same shocks on them - 12". The differences between them are the features and looks. Of course the seats are different and the bars which may give a little perception that one is better than the other, based on individual taste just because of the feel you get with your butt and hands in a different position. However, the stock seats on all the dynas basically suck, in my (and many others) opinion and swapping out the seat is no big deal and the same options are available for both styles. Given that the ride and handling are about the same, I'd say sit on or even ride them to see which one feels better to you unless a particular model's styling or features calls to you, in which case, I'd say let that decide for you.

The models you'd probably notice a difference in handling are the Wide Glide and the Fat Bob vs. the other dynas. I've never ridden one but the consensus seems to be that the Fat Bob is the best handling of the dynas. And the Wide Glide handles slightly different because of the increased rake.

Thanks for the good info.! Harley seats do leave a lot to be desired. In the Touring line the Road Glide seat is the exception and occasionally serves as a replacement on the Street Glide. I love the Black Ice color on the SG Custom; I wonder how it looks in the denim variety of the Street Bob?

for the best ride buy a roadglide seat..........and install a roadglide under it.

Start from the ground up! Short suspension means less wheel travel to absorb bumps. A Super Glide would be my choice, but not quite as good as my FXDXT! Better to add a comfortable seat to a comfortable bike.

It's mostly in the suspension...my stock suspended FXDXT rides waaay nicer than my buddies RK Custom, but I've got more suspension travel and adjustment to use...a big bike on a big freeway will feel pretty good, but depending on what kind of roads you seek, there are better options.

By the way, I am currently riding a Street Glide
You know maybe I'm an idiot but if you're concerned about comfort why would you go from a Street Glide to a Dyna? I mean the Street Glide is basically a lowered Electraglide. The Electraglide is the most comfortable motorcycle I've ever sat on a Dyna is many things but as comfortable as a FLH,..no. PS. the most comfortable thing you can do to a Dyna is put Electraglide shocks on it.

If you're going with MID CONTROLS....... and want COMFORT......then the best mod you can do is check out the Kuryakyn ISO Dually foot peg with optional heel ( they call it stirrups) rest. I cant tell you what a HUGE difference that made for my feet, legs and thighs while riding long distances. It's like having a set of floorboards. As for seats.... they suck. I am on my 3rd seat ( went from Stock to the Reach Seat back to the Stock and now have a Sundowner) and so far, the Sundowner is much more comfortable with my mid controls. But for me, the #1 best thing I did for my overall comfort with mid controls, was installing those Kury ISO Dually's with the heel rest.
