You are just one badass dude aren't you?? You blow everything through the roof. Talk **** like your the man and can't tell the difference between thinking something is expensive and getting it done for free. He's not asking it to be done for free but simply stating that it's expensive. When you think about it when you get new tire put on your vehicle is $15 per wheel to remove the old one, mount the new, new valve stems and balanced. For 4 wheels that is $60 whether is 15 inch rims or 22 inch rims. He's asking them just to remove the tires and it's going to cost $80. We all know it doesn't take an hour to do that, maybe 10 minutes. Unless you're using the three crow bar method mentioned above, might take a little longer.
well to be honest dipshit, I wasnt attempting to be a "bad ***" and I dont think I blew anything out of proportion. How much do you get paid an hour? and what if I came to your place of business and asked you to work and didnt pay you what you earn. regardless of what the job is
I think a lot of responses on this thread are indicative of the change Harley owners have gone through. Many bikers have lost the will to master their machine, the DIY attitude is disappearing. I think a lot of it boils down to having more dollars than sense.

that change has happened to all people in general...not just Harley owners.... Anyways, I think getting charged 1 hour labor is a little steep. I paid 1/2 hour to have my front tire changed completely out. So maybe 1/2 hour labor to remove 2 tires sounds right. It sure does seem crazy to pay 80 bucks for a 10 minute service.

thanks for the common sense answer to the post.....
When I went from a 19" to 21" front rim I bought all the stuff (new hub, new rim, new twisted spokes, tube, etc., etc.) and I laced the tire myself (which was tough) but I couldn't true it. Cost me $40 to true.
I can ride into my dealer and have them change my rear for $70. That's them taking the wheel off the bike, removing the old tire, installing the new one and then putting it back on the bike. After spending $2000 on rims, I would much rather them change my tires than me do it and possibly slip and f**k them up! my.02

Man you get butt hurt easy, you must have a complex! I don't get paid hourly! I have a salary, so it doesn't really matter and trust me I put in a lot more time then you ever will for my job and I don't get paid extra for it, but I do have a nice paycheck and appreciate it. Plus I love what I do! He's still not asking for it to be done for free, just saying it's expensive, but you still missed that and want to rip him to shreds, so yea out of proportion. Everybody knows Harley is expensive and it's pretty amazing when the Harley's are no way as complex as today's cars and trucks, but yet cost more to work on. He's venting and asking for guidance, get over your self!

I know what you're saying but it's a risk either way. You gotta find a good indy or dealership. I've seen some people that had their bike at the dealership for their 1k service and get it back with grease all over and scratched. Went back in and they denied it and sent him packing. I've heard stories both ways, it's a matter of finding good customer service these days which seems to be harder and harder to find. IMO!!
