Default Update on buying Low Rider

Ok, so I think I'm most comfortable going with a local dealer... I guess I'd rather pay a little bit more and not have to drive or do too much foot work. At any rate, the sapphire blue one is the one I want, hands down.

I went to the dealer without the boyfriend yesterday... yes, dressed to kill. I loved the bike... nice, clean, VH pipes, Hi Flow, nice skull pegs, etc. Got the guy down to 12,900. and he's adding on a detachable windshield & storage 'till I want to pick it up.

He is holding it for me until next Sat., when I'll drive back up there (it's an hour and a half away) and likely try to haggle a bit more and seal the deal. I can't tell you how AWESOME that bike sounds.... OMG... I can't freaking wait.

That sounds great. You don't mention what year it is. I have a 2009 LR and love it. I am sure you will too. Here is a little trick I used on my last purchase. I went in with a cashiers check for what I wanted to pay. It was for 500.00 less than our last OTD negotiated price. Not only did they take it , they threw in the first service too.

Well congrats!!! From the prices that I've been seeing on that bike, I'd hardly call that paying a little bit more. I'll be sure to get some tips from you on dressing to kill for my next negotiations!!! With all due respect, could you share some pics please???

Congrats! So this is the 07, right? Good choice. Price is a bit high for my taste but you do pay extra for buying from a dealer and even without a warranty it does give you a place to go back and bitch if anything comes up wrong. Can't do that much with a private owner and a decent dealer will care about customer sat and work with you.

The w/s is $375 new so that's a good extra.

Can't wait to see some pics!

Good choice Angie. I sat on most all of the bikes at the dealer and when I sat on the Low Rider the salesman said he knew right away it was the bike for me (I got a big smile on my face). I'll bet you're going to love the ride.

Can't go wrong with a low rider, sounds like you worked out a pretty sweet deal. I don't think the whole "dress to kill" angle would work to well for us guys though!! congrats on the new ride.

The idea about the cashier's check is pretty good, the big twin will feel a little heavier than your sporty, putt around in the parking lot before the ride home. Pics would be nice. What does the S/O ride?
