Hickey... Just found this after reading JaronB's thread. I may have to do this but use some driving lights! I need more than one headlight on some of these dark backroads. Thinking about adding an HID kit too, but that doesn't solve the problem you'll have if the bulb blows. No redundancy...

Just be careful about how low the running lights go. the sigs are tucked up pretty tight to the forwards with this mod. I'm not sure how big the running lights are that your thinking about using. Maybe instead of an L shaped bracket that I used on this one, something a little longer, even a bigger angle (rather than 45 degrees, maybe 100-140). Just remember if its a longer bracket it will vibrate and move more, so probably a thicker steel too.

Do you think if they're too low they'll become ineffective? Or too reflective off the ground. I do understand what you mean by vibrating... it wold quickly become annoying to have your projected light shaking around.

Maybe I will do the HID....

well you can always adjust the angle of the light to face slightly upwards, but I'm not sure if that is legal. a lot of light might be wasted on the ground, but so do fog lights on cars and trucks.

I'm personally going to go with an HID come the spring, its hard to do wiring in a really cold garage, fingers go numb haha.

Love the look! Wish I was more mechanically inclined and could do more of this stuff myself.

Gotta start somewhere. Just got for it!!

Here's the way I think about projects..... I can pay $300 to let the dealer do (or half *** it) or I can spend $300 on tools and do it myself! I like the buying tools option!

Unfortunately, I didn't have the same holes the rocker had on its frame so I knew I was going to have to make some brackets. Grabbed some 1/8th inch steel and started cutting. The bracket in the attached pic was just a mock-up, I made two much cleaner ones and sent them off for powder. Ran the sig wiring from the neck of the frame following the down tube, and bingo.

It seems to work well, I dont think they'll drag because they're not as low as the pipes, but we shall see. Unfortunately, my front end is currently appart so I cant get a pic of the new locations on a full bike, but you get the idea. I'm pretty pumped because it puts the sigs at the same level as my rear sigs which are mounted to my swing arm.

The flash makes the sigs really stand out, however in natural light it looks like they're part of the forwards, nice and clean.

That is awesome, thanks for the idea!
