Default snap crackle pop.....

Its a new Bike to me 2001 Low Rider that I start up in the garage. yes just to listen to that sweet sound....after about 5 to 10 min. I shut her down.

crackle crackle and crackle is all the noises that come from the Bike when i shut her down.... they garage is about 30 or so degrees.


Im guessing this is normal but wanted to know what it is??

it is definately normal.
just the engine cooling down.

The sound is from pipes, manifold, heat shields cooling down and is normal. Actually, running your bike for short periods at idle is not good for the engine as it allows condensation to build. Start it when you are ready to ride the heck out of it!

You are causing the interior walls of your bike's cylinders to rust everytime you shut off the warm motor, in the cold air of your garage.

Rice Krispies being expelled out the exhaust, some Rice rider must of touched your bike.

+1 on not running your engine in the winter time in the garage just to hear it run. These engines do make quite a bit of condensation when it's cold outside or when the engine has been cold soaked. When the weather turns decent go out for a long drive to evaporate the water/moisture out of the oil. Welcome to the LowRider family.
