For superrooster2003, FXD Ignition Switch Mod
I have a 2006 FXDI and hate the location of the stock ignition switch. I added a new switch to the console to replace the fuel gauge. Now the neck switch acts as a fork lock only, and is labeled so.
superrooster2003 had wiring questions, so I am posting some info for him, and anyone else interested.
To wire up the new switch, I simply removed the harness and connector at the stock switch, extended the wiring, and plug it all in to the new switch. The plug worked on both switches.
The switch on your new tank should wire up the same.
