Thinking about doing this. Anyone got pics before I do this an find out it looks like crap? I think the black ones look good on the blacked out bobs, but I'm not sure how they would look on my black and chrome FXDC.
Also Im dumb and cant figure out how to do a good search.
Ok you have short shots now... do you like the way they look and sound?.... reason I ask is cause you could put some cams in that bike and get much more out of it than replacing the exhaust. Same cost for cams or even less if you do it yourself.
The thunderheaders are beautiful and make great power, almost every 2 into 1 will make more power than any 2 into 2 system. If you are looking for performance only go with a 2-1 the best one out there is D&D, their pipes make the best power, not in opinion or some fanatsy-land keyboard comandos head but on the dyno. For proof go to http://www.rosascycle.com/ and read the dyno sheets you will see a 10+ horsepower difference between a D&D and any 2-2 V&H/Rineharts etc, also give andrew a call he is very friendly and extremely helpful. I have had 3 bikes with the Thunderheader and loved them all but after I learned that the TH has a problem making over 100 HP I went with the D&D. Do yourself a favor and call these guys first. Andrew has been racing and building race Harleys for over 30 years. His experience is absolutely top notch and if you compare what you learn from him and what your $teeler tells you, you will be able to see the absolute BS the $teelers put out there. Good Luck
I'm with ya on all this...the fat cat makes great power but I gotta add, different 2 into ones make different power on different builds (the build affects what the pipe will put out). Just for kicks I tried alot of pipes on my present build...the top 3 were Bassani pro 2 into 1, Thunderheader & the fatcat...most hp in that order! I'll always ride with a Thunderheader though...f'n love em! My point is if one pipe is best on a certain build doesn't mean it will be the best on all builds!
Im about to tackle same project. Bought one for my 06 street bob. Got off ebay 200.00 with help from this forum painted it black(was chrome) suprisingly came out great. Wrapping today, install soon. Listen to these guys, will not steer you wrong. Good luck. We can get through this.haha
