After I pulled my wires I used a simple continuity tester to check that none of them grounded out to the bars. Wiggle them and pull on them a little bit and check them again. Sounds paranoid but it beats the alternative.
Jaron, you got any plans to head to southern Idaho this spring/summer? We should hook up for a ride.
No plans to head down there yet for riding! You should hit up our NW Dyna ride to Goldendale, WA this summer. It's basically the NW Dynas from HDF.
I did it the other way. Used the air compressor. Thought I had it in my hand and next thing I know the string shoots out of the bottom of the bars at me. A lot easier to recover though!!, Hopefully the vacuum was empty!
I changed the sigs on my wifes bike and had a wire gound out and it blew the TSSM I sure hope this didn't happen to you, you should see if you can get a code to come up. If you didn't use extentoins maybe you put the wires back in the connector wrong, I would check that first.
I checked the wire colors a hundred times on the connectors and they all match, but at this point I'll check again along with all the other ideas.
First thing is take the switch housings apart and check for any pinched wires.
If you don't find any fuses blown or pinched wires at the switches, next check under the tank. Did you solder the connections under the tank for easier access?
If not there, I know its a dreaded thought, (been there done that) but if you don't find any pinched (shorted out) wiring at the switches or under the tank, pull it and redo to be on the safe side. Live and learn.
ps: fishing line (25-30lb) and a lead pinch weight works great for feeding through the bars.
you can order bars w/ wires in em already too this guy rocks
i bought mine from him love em
yeah bill is awesome....he is the one that made my internal wired risers up for me...he has em listed on his website... mine were the first he's done.
Jaron....hope you find the source.... when doing mine I pinched the orange white wire a bit. blew the battery fuse. It was just me being too careless when reattaching my throttle side switches as it pinched right there at the switch housing.

Yea I was thinking I was careless with it in the end! I didn't think they were that touchy, but now I know so we'll see.
Hey, the Montana trip is called off.... let me know if you have time.... I'll come over with meters and material.
We'll have to play it by ear because I just found out today I gotta go take my E7 exam in Spokane SAT, they finally got in the right test. Sunday will be the day or late afternoon SAT. We'll see how the week goes.

I have a crappy feeling I may have to re-do it because I was pulling pretty hard on the wires to get them through. Hopefully not, but I'll start with the lessor means and move on. I did solder under the tank because I had to so I can fit the connectors through the curves. I'll start at the controls first!! Thanks!
