I got mine on Ebay last year for $60 - I had to cut the wires, splice and heat wrap. Very simple process. Did a cool search on this site which really helped. I believe it was Archer Goodwin who had the info and a few pics.
Appearance is only half of the equation/functionality is the other half. Good majority of my riding is at night, and I personally think the stock streetbob lighting, blows chunks, functionality wise. Looks, I could go either way, I am bored with the stock 5 3/4 little light, so thought I'd give the bigger light a go, and I'm digging it, plus, I've got tons of more room in the 7" bucket for a HID ballest, if I want to do that as well. The last bonus is I think it deflects a little more air from getting in between my shield and me.
you guys have any pART NUMBERS OR WHERE YOUR BUYING YOURS. Sorry, hit the cap lock!! I saw some on ebay but not sure which ones the best to buy.. Sure are lookin cool though..tnx.......
Bought mine here from a number of posts from other forum members, it's the bucket and the plug, so you will need to get the lamp in addition to it.
then if I get a new light I need a new larger shield...sob
You want to buy a larger shield, then knock your self out bro, if not, you don't have too. You look back on some threads on streetbob 7 inch headlights and you will find some guys including mine, that masked out our original shields and trimmed em down, it's pretty easy to do. You take your time and you won't be able to tell it's not factory.

I think (or hope) he was being sarcastic...the 7" is way nicer.

What do you mean masked out? Which tools did you use
So when I put my new 7" (non-Harley) housing on, I disconnected my stock headlight cable from the main harness in the backbone, and then removed it from the stock shell. Popped the terminals out of the connector housing and installed it in the new shell.
No cutting and stripping and so forth. Also, I installed the Sylvania/Osram UltraSilverStar bulb.... I get all the light I need... and I ride in "deer alley" here at home.
Here's pics of the stock harness, and a side shot of the bike (a while back).
