Default St. Bob Head Light Swap

I bought a 7inch FatBoy head light. I want to switch out the stock Bob head light. Is it as simple as just running the new wires? Or are there going to be other issues I need to be concerned with? Talk about putting the cart before the horse.

I reused the stock light harness on my swap.... have to pull the terminals out of the plug and such, but it makes a nice clean install.

I also purchased a fat boy head light from my local "Stealer", its an actual factory light, comes with the male end, was told if the plug is different which i haven't checked due to bike is in storage, that i can order the female plug with pigtails to wire right in.

Just did it on my streetbob 2 weeks ago,
here is the after pic

and the stock light

The fatboy headlight will come with a two wire connector because the ground is terminated in the bucket, where as your streetbob has a ground wire running back in the wire harness. I snipped the ground wire off the new bucket, and unpinned the new connector from the light, and reused my old connector. No wires cut, except the ground on new light which is not necessary since you allready have a ground in your connector.

if you need a 3 wire connector they can be gotten at the parts store for super cheap. Cars have been using those for years.
