Default License plate relocation...

Got a noob question here. I am goin to reloacte my license plate to a side mount.Am I gonna run into any major issues removing the old plate mount/light on the rear fender? Is this an easy mod to do? I am gonna run with no light on the plate itself(till they tell me otherwise) Thanks for the help! Shep

I have an 09 FXDC and put the Kuryakyn side mount (horizontal) on. No issues but know that you will have either 3 or 4 holes in your fender from the stock mount. There are mounting plate hole covers that you can get from HD, www.realhog.com and other sites to fill those holes.

I cut mine off with a dremel and a cutting wheel attachment. You can't make perfect lines but it isn't noticeable.

Thanks guys. I will probably try the dremel first. If I don't like it,I can always check for the cover. Those from Kuryakyn just aren't my style, though.
