I've been thinking about having my chrome covers PC'd black , and possibly having some black flames painted over the Pacific blue pearl tins . But , that's aa lot of money that my exwife will love to spend before I get the chance .
I havent wasted any mods on the Dyna YET. When I get home I am making a bunch of changes to it though and hoping not to have any regrets. The main one is that I have Rounder's big radius pipes sitting in my basement waiting to go on. Hopefully I dont regret them.
The softail on the other hand....I turned it into a very nice chrome ***** FXST style bike last summer. Now I decided I wanted a Fatboy and since the wife said no new bike right now, I am changing out the tins and front wheel. The current front wheel and tire have about 300 miles on them....
I have a set of a progressive front lowering springs sitting here. I HOPE I don't regret it, but I'm thinking I might like the ricor emulators better......they are still in the box so I could sell them....
You can use both at the same time. In fact you should if you want to lower the front end. The Intiminators will actually raise the front end 5/8".
For me the wasted mod was the PC-V, good tuner if you can get the connection water tight. I have the SERT now and should have got it from the start, live and learn. It's all right though, I sold the PC-V and got some of my money back.
Yeah.... You got to hate it when you spend money on things that you think you needed but later decided it wasn't the way that you wanted it in the first place. Thats what leads to extra bars, exhausts, helmets, chrome bits, ect. Anything I do these days, I make a calculated decison as to the value its going to give my bike. If its going to make it look better, it should be "way better". If it's going to make it faster, it better be "way faster"..... you know what I mean. I can't afford to make those types of purchases anymore without thinking about it. If I can do it myself with some spare parts laying around, I will. Your bike looks good though.
Rev Tech DFO, I don't know how they are now but mine was completely useless with the new type FI.
Easy Brackets, never looked as good as my throw over bags without them and they rattled to beat all hell.
The saddle bags, them self's were a bit of a waste they never held as much or were as easy to pack as a small duffel bag.
Motherwell rack more expensive and no where near as usefull as a used two up seat.
For me personally I think the 06 Street bob was a colossal waste of money I'd have had more fun with a used Bandit or Speed Triple oh well, live and learn.
matching brown pillion...hated it...tried to let it grow on me but didn't work...i had black mini apes installed after a wreck...should've gone with taller apes...real 12" apes or perhaps 14"...
