Default '07 Street Bob Handlebars

Hello Guys, Thank you all in advance for your help.

I laid my bike down in the snow last week. I know stupid. Very little damage was done to the bike and I am fine.

However, the handlebars got bent up pretty bad. I have wanted to run wires internally anyway.

I really like the size and shape of the stock bars I just want them internalluy wired.

Can I buy another set of $75 OEM bars (56079-93T I think)
and drill them or do I need a differnet deal.

Harley recently started offering 16" Fat Ape Handlebar Kit with Riser (56942-10 - $320!!!) I know that they include the riser and are pre-drilled, but why are those so much more?

Ok, to wrap it up, what do you think. I feel little loyalty to Harley for aftermarket parts. I do like the look and feel of the stock bars. Anyone have anythoughts on handlebar selection or brands?

Thanks,
Shea

If you want stock bars, get stock bars. They're a dime a dozen on ebay and craigslist and could probably be had for about $25.

I know you said you were loyal to Harley parts, but I also consider that was said by a man who dropped his bike in the snow.

Flanders makes a set of mini-apes of the same specs as the OEM mini-apes, but these are chrome, drilled for internal wiring, and thicker walled. They run about $140.00.

A) why were you riding in the snow? It's not a quad, or a snowmobile. It's a m/c.

B) Buy whatever you want to buy.

+1 on the Flanders. Got them on my bike so I can vouch for their quality. They make quality bars and have an extensive selection to choose from. There are obviously plenty of other great looking bars out there from other manufacturers as well.

I also like the 'look' of the stock Street Bob mini apes. I like the skinny bar look, not so much the fat bar look.

I am sure there are guys on this site that can shed some light on this. Someone should chime in soon.
Good luck,

Cheers,

Tom

I love your speedo!

Tho you didn't run your wires internally...

Default Street Bob Bars

It's unfortunate that your bike went down, however, it doesn't make you stupid. I almost did the same thing Sunday. The streets are clear but I had a patch of ice in my driveway and I was bringing my bike home from my friends garage after doing my winter mods.

That said, I have a set of 09 Street Bob bars that I'll unload for $50.
