You sure its not just backing up in the hand control. There is a little shim in between the back of the switch and the inner wall of the switch housing. Mine didn't have enough tension in it. The switch would walk its way toward the grip and the brake light would be stuck on all the time. I solved it by cutting a shim out of the little plastic packaging that Craftsman sockets are attached to. I stuffed inbetween the inner wall of the switch housing and the back side of the switch and all is well since (over a year ago)

Good advice on the shim. I spent 2 hours last night trying to chase down electrical demons on my bike and it ended up being the front brake switch. I pushed it forward in the housing but I'm going to do the shim thing to make sure that thing doesn't back out again.

That part doesn't have enough tension. Mine was in there but it was almost fully compressed. Made my own little wedge, solid plastic part from a craftsman socket package. Cut it to size with wire cutters.
