Default pissed at my stealer

hey guys,
i know its been a while but i just wanted to throw that ou there.
went in for warranty having to do with the front fork lowers and strated talking about works triple rate front end kit.
one guy tells me no prob i will have them throw them in for you since there going to be taking your shocks apart anyway.
long story short i get a call from a different guy telling me my bike is done and its going to be 55 today so need to come get my bike because he needs the room and do i want to know how much i owe so i can have the money on me when i come get the bike.
so i explained to him what the other service writer said and he gave me some crap so i told him, whatever and that i would be there this morning to get my bike out of his way
when i showed up to get my bike they had already made the tech take apart my bike and put the stock parts back in needless to say they just lost a good customer
sorry if this post is hard to read i am sending it from my phone..just had to get this off my chest and see if there were any local guys looking for some side work

Sounds like miscommunication. When I had my FLHTC lowered I opted to add the chrome front end kit since the labor was going to be free - they had to tear the bike apart to lower it so the chrome pieces were just putting different stuff back on. Labor was the same.

Naturally I had to pay for the chrome pieces. Still a great deal when you can get two for one labor.

bought the springs and braught them into them...days after our agreement...
even if there was a misscommunication i spoke to the same guy twice on two different days.also when i went to pick up my bike i was ready to pay when i got there just so there was no bad blood, but he had made the tech put it back to stock overnight and was a complete jerk to me about it.

So, they were charging you the labor of switching the front springs even though they had the front end apart to do warranty work?

Have you tried talking to the General Manager or owner of that dealership? Diplomacy would be key in this situation.

I have never, ever had an issue with the dealership that they didn't make right, and those were few and far between. I try to support indys when possible but more and more I run into "mechanics" who don't seem to know what they're doing.

I've been a wrench for 45 years and I've found that 75% of all the mechanics I've ever come across, I wouldn't let fix a bicycle and that includes the dealers and especially aircraft mechanics----jack
