As you can tell, almost everyone who has a FatBob loves it to death! And you can include me in that group. I had a "95 Springer Bad Boy Softail before the Bob, and the Dyna beats it for handling and comfort hands down. I have made many modifications on mine, but only for comfort, covenience and personality. Only performance improvement done was the stage one A/C, download and Screaming Eagle slip-ons with the machine gun ends. Really woke the bike up, and I don't need to build up the engine, it goes plenty fast enough and has enough torque for me. I added XIED's that I got off of someone on this forum and it runs a lot cooler. Since the picture, I put on air shocks from an 09 touring bike and it rides nice.
As most have said, take your time and ride as many as you are interested in. Each one has a different feel. It may only take sitting on one to know if it fits or not.
Good Luck, and you won't be sorry when you fine the "one".
I agree....I like the solid wheels for simplicity's sake but they are a pain to keep clean. I would love to have laced wheels and one day I may but for now that is what the bike came with and it had most of what I wanted.
Maybe we need to trade because my laced wheels SUUUUCK to clean.
I put 15k on my Fat bob last year (live in snow country as well) and love the thing. It is comfortable, handles like a dream and out performs any other harley I have ridden. Mine has screaming eagle slip ons, heavy breather, computer flash, so no real engine work. The biggest improvement I found was switching the stock tires to Metzlers, both in performance and looks (love the 200 rear).
As for looks well I like it but to each his own.
I do agree that it is a little light in aftermarket support.
I do love mine, love the look, the ride is great, handles the corners well, and has more power than I need. If I had a complaint its that I wish the seat was a little closer to the bars.
As has been said here when you take that test ride youll know if its right for you.
The FatBob is a great bike, it handles really well. Smooth in the corners. Would like a bit more power but that's something we all seem to be asking for whatever the bike! Fwd controls work perfectly for me, but definitely test ride one first just to make sure that's what you're after.
Anyone got more photos/advice on the FatBoy headlight conversion? Thinking about changing mine over this year but I'd like to do a little more comparing before I drop the $$$!

I did the Fatboy headlight conversiona only paid 40 bucks for the headlight and need to clean up the wires but thats a project for a raining day after I go get a soldering gun... I think it looks great on the Fatbob but thats just my opinion....
voted as the best handeling harley by rider and cycle world magazines. as for the look it has alot of influence from the europian customs . personally I love it. I had a nighster with lased wheels and they sucked to clean so I love how easy the fatbob's are. the only note I can give you is that the seat is not very comfortable for the passenger for long distances, ok for short hops. good luck
