What about grinding the stock mounts off, and drilling holes in the top tree to accept risers of your choice, etc? It's practically free if you have a cut-off wheel / hack saw / etc....and a drill with the appropriate sized bit.

Dude- you have got to use LonerIndustries for risers! Don't mess with changing the upper triple tree- there is no need. Below check out my pix of the Custom Risers 2" that I got from them- they are amazing. As far as I know they have 1,2 and 4" ones.
