I installed the zipper filter and did the WORLD FAMOUS MUD-MOD yesterday, and I found this wire attached to the stock A/C. What's it for and what did you guys do with it? So far I just have it tucked in there to hide it, but wondering why HD hangs these kinds of plugs here and there that are not plugged into anything.
Thanks

Reason: forgot the pic
I was lost when I found that installing a cheap sucker. I looked into it and have heard everything from air temperature sensor, a diagnostic hookup for mechs, to an overseas emission gadget. Either way everyone says just to hang it somewhere and forget about it. I wouldn't remove it, but it's supposedly useless. I used a little tie wire and hid it behind the filter. Depending on which kit you're installing there may be a little hole to plug it into.
Here's a thread I found https://www.hdforums.com/forum/dyna-...r-cleaner.html
The going word I hear is that it is where you hook up the rocket boosters. In the event you don't install the rocket boosters I believe it is used to the over sea models in conjunction with the air intake (I think it may control a flap style valve). zip tie and forget

yeah my Sportster had California emissions and had that same thing, only hooked up....and it did go to an air flapper valve. No doubt about that......hey in the pic where you are holding it there is a **** on the clip that looks like it is made to be held in a hole somewhere. Maybe a place meant for that to be stuck if not in use??

You are correct. There is a place for it to attach on the stock backing plate.
