Jamie,

I called them and told them about the ECM and they called me back a few hours later
and said they tried it but it did not make any difference. They are going to take the new
one out and put the old one back in the the morning.
So I have to accept the fact that, that is the way it will be.
I am going to look at an 07 Sotail Standard or 07 Night train in Denim Black and see what they
will do on a trade up.

I REALLY like my BoB though so maybe I will try a SERT 1st . Man choices [8D] are driving me nutz

Thanks for the help !!!!!

WillieC
They did swap out any of the sensors? The MAP sensor comes to mind as something that could cause surging like you describe. There is definitely a way to fix the bike because 99% of '06 Dynas don't have the problem. There is something wrong somewhere.

I agree with Jamie on this but disagree with throwing parts at it. MAP, vacuum leaks, VSS the list goes on can all cause a problem as you describe. A competent full diagnostic mechanic could fix this problem.

I agree 100%. I'm just tossing out ideas so he can quiz the dealership. There is no reason for them not to be able to fix his bike.

I was at the dealers today to pickup my pickup my 06 Dyna.
They have offered to trade my 06 Bob in on 07 St Bob for $550.00
difference which includes tax and tags and dealer prep.
Only problem is that they do not have Denim Black and will not until
October. They have the Olive Green and blk, denim pewter, and I think
the denim Blue.
Riding mine home it was really surging bad so I do want to get rid of it
and maybe now is the time.
I started up the Olive Green and Black one and the 07 mufflers are not
that much louder than the 06 and they sound crappy to me stock.
So no big deal on that part for me. The LEDS are brighter and you can
see them better other than that visually they look the same.
I do not care for the ribbed seat either but many may like it.
Looks better in the catalog than on the bike in my opinion.

So now I need to decide what to do. $550.00 bucks aint much to jump up a year
and the stroked engine is worth more than that. I am guessing my pipes,
big sucker AC will fit it too. Not sure if the SERT, fuelpak and PCII will be
the same one or not.

Oh and I rode a VROD while I was waiting they really have them reduced in price.
Very nice bike, handles like a dream and is fairly fast and smooth. I was impressed but not enough
to get one. Would be nice for a second bike.

Take the '07 and laugh all the way home. Obviously they've given up on being able to fix your bike. Any pipes, AC or whatever you installed on your '06 will work on the '07 too. The only thing you will need new is a sert.

WillieC I agree with Jamie. Take the new bike. If you have the original parts reinstall, if not, maybe your dealer will swap those parts that are the same. Either way I wish you luck. It does sound like the dealer is trying to do the right thing.

TAKE THE '07 AND RUN! I actually like the olive but not as much as my denim black '06. But, you could always get the olive one and switch out the tins. I've seen some cheap ones on ebay recently. Good luck.

I would jump on the new bike myself. It beats dealing with the hassle and you get the 96" motor to boot.

Get the new one - maybe pewter. Just make sure they transfer your add-ons too.
