I need suggestions for the best and easiest installation forward controls for 2009 Dyna FXDC.

best and easiest may not be the same. the kuryakyn forwards do not require the trans cover to be removed, easiest. but the harley ones do look better than the kury's in my opinion... so if your trying to do this the easy way kury are a good choice. im willing to bet there other makers like the kurys that dont require the trans cover to be removed.

some people have cut those original shifter shafts out, but i dont think that would be easy.

Of the ones I've installed, I think the one from HD is the best one. It isn't that hard to take it all apart. That's just my opinion. I usually don't think the HD stuff is the best option all the time but in this case I think it is.

I did the HD kit and left the shaft in until I was sure I would like them. Then I cut the shaft with a hack saw blade when I changed out the stock primary cover for a polished aluminum cover. One thing that was nice - I had the gaskets and sealing bolts when I pulled the primary for the 30T pulley change - at which time I could have pulled out the shaft too.

my buddies stock hd forwards on a 2009 fat boy look cheap compared to my 3" extended kuryakyns....1 1/2 hrs to install....of coarse i just tied the shift lever with a zip tie for now
