Default Frustrating week!

!&^(#$*&#@*&@ what a week!!

Warning: this post has very little useful info in it and is mostly a rant before a vein pops in my head!

Ordered a bunch of parts for my super glide as I decided to do a few things I have always talked about doing. Chrome control kit, footpeg relocation kit ofr my forwards, new bars, and deiced to install a 12v power point. Order up the things I need, and about 2 weeks later the bars show up. I figure the chrome controls shold be here soon, might as well start the work and tear the bike down to do the many things I wanna do. as it turns out, the controls take another week to get here! In the meantime I decided to order some paint to do soem trim pieces and signal light relocation bolts. Realise I havent gotten any shipping info from Kuryakin for my footpeg reloc. and call them. Oops! They didn't ship them yet cause the cc was declined for the shipping charges. Sitting there 3 weeks and they didn't get around to calling me. Get them shipped.

Finally the chrome controls get here. I rip everything down and start with the 12v installation, re-routing all the wires to left side grommet, everything goes smooth. Next I install chrome caps from HD. Break the start button cap. Oh well can keep using one black one. go to install the switches in the housings and they don't fit properly. Everything is cocked at angles and jam up the rocker switches. Fortunately I bought a pair of chrome housings last year and had them on a shelf. They are good so I decide to use them. Oops they don't have the clutch safety switch hole. Oh well the precious owner had already disabled the lockout so I just remove the switch. Get all the controls on then realise I forgot to put the throttle shoe in, take it all apart, install it. front brake signal switch, doesn't work. remove the brake and check the switch itself, doesn't work. Oh well, rear one works will worry about it later.

Get a bunch of stuff on and starting to feel better, looks decent. Call about my paint. They can't find my order. this mornign call them back, guy found it but the paint isn't in stock, but will be in Montreal on Friday, will be immediately shipped to me. Had to leave the house for about an hour. While I'm gone the wife happens to be in the bathroom when the ups guy comes and before she can get out, he's gone. Have to wait till tomorrow for the footpeg reloc's. Look at the tracking for my signal relocator bolts...... a mistake was made and it was shipped to New York!!!!!!

Some days your the windshield and some days your the bug!!
I feel flat and splattered lol.

Man, I'm sorry but I feel your pain. Seems like the last few things I have ordered have taken forever to get to me. And with good old pay pal not changing my address like they were supposed to my highway pegs and tank lift kit went to my old address. Some poor little old lady nearly Sh** when I showed up at her door all tattooed up looking for my stuff!!!

Hahaha that was a pretty funny mental picture! lol

All in all it's not that bad, bike is just about back together, I'll just have to pull a few thigns back off when the paint gets here. It was just a string of bad luck lol

When I bought my first Harley the sales guy took me around to meet everyone at the dealership. When I met the service manager one of the first things he told me was to make sure you have all of your parts in hand before you do any mods or come in for repairs.

Good advice eh?

Bummer Dude, seems like the days drag by when your waiting for new parts in the mail.
Just last week I placed an order and usually get it in two days. this time it took 6 days finally got here and they messed my order up. Meanwhile my bike is all apart.

lol and as a professional mechanic I usually do that as a rule but this time excitement won over common sense lol

What does soften the blow is that it snowed again so I wouldn't have been able to ride anyway lol

It's a bitch waiting for parts, but I have been bitten too many times by starting something and having to leave the bike non-rideable.

Now, all the parts are in first, and I have a completely free weekend to pace myself on the job. No cutting corners, and no saying "I'll fix that later".
