Nice purchase Mr. Bargain. I thought I made out, I just sunk a new Danny Gray shorthop 2-up for $160.00.

Got to say I had a gel seat on my VFR that I had before the Dyna and it wasn't that good, but there;s a guy I use that intalls a special honeycomed high density foam. I had this fitee to the seat of VFR I owned a few years ago and it was incredible stuff, never once got tender buttocks in 1000s of miles riding

I'll give your suggestion a try first tho' D.M - could save me some money!

There are 2 seats in a riders life......... one when you're young, and one when you're old.
If ya ride long enough and are anywhere close to age 60, you'll be looking for one of those "couch" seats...... trust me.
You're bones get a little stiffer, butt padding gets a little thinner, back gets a little weaker. It's just a matter of time.

Your new seat definitely gives the bike a dramatic new look. I like it!

That does look a lot better. It's amazing what seats cost these days. It pays to be patient and wait for good used stuff to pop up. I recently scored an original black leather seat off of a rare CVO FXDWG3 for $75. It converts from solo to 2-up by removing 2 bolts.

Guess I must be needing a seat for an old guy then - I'm 60 in Sept this year, and yes you're right the old bones do get a bit stiffer and achey as time goes on, no denying that. Having said that, after the sports tourer bikes that I've been riding for the last good number of years the Harley is a dream comfort wise - no matter what seat it's fitted with!

I'll use the nice looking seat for short day runs, but for anything more than a couple of hundred miles I'll pop the "couch" seat (which I'll keep) back on. It may look like a disaster but it IS very comfy!

Seat looks good. Still waiting on my sundowner (solo) to arrive, and hoping it doesn't look too out of place. Have a La Pera (Maverick, I think) at the moment, but it gets real uncomfortable and painful after an hour or so. I'll keep it for 2-up rides, but the sundowner should give me some touring comfort this summer
