Greetings,

SERT is more flexible, and is fairly easy to use. I've had it on the last 4 bikes now. As far as warranty goes, around here if it's dealer installed, the dealer will honor it.

I've got a local Craigslist guy selling a NIB SERT for $375.00 Sonds like a good deal, but my question is..... My dealer did the Stage 1 and SERT tune but I didn't get any software or anything when I got the bike back. Can I buy this SERT (provided it's on the up & up) and use it or am I "locked" into the dealer. DD

If you did just a stage 1 upgrade then you get just a upload to your ECM which doesn't do much more than raise the rev limiter. SERT you would get a black box or if the new version you would get an orange one. I bought mine from a dealer on-line and tuned it myself. if you want to use your laptop you need the cd to go with it that is part of the SERT package. By not getting anything you most likely got the stage 1 upgrade. The SERT tuner works good as does the TTS if you know what you are doing and understand what you are doing. The new version does have a tuning feature, sort of a self tune while you drive, then you make the changes it suggests and reprogram the ECM. TTS has a sililar program that does the same.

the dealer would love for you to come to them for a retune every time you make a little change to your bike.
Get a Power Commander with an auto tuner or better still a Thundermax Autotune and let it self adjust for minor changes and you can remap it yourself for bigger mods.
