first day on the way home, but I had just traded in a ninja and was still used to being able to realy lean into a corner. I dont do it as often anymore not unless I realy need to turn fast.
Maybe you should be looking at your technique if you drag all of the time! Road racers seem to be able to turn really tight at high speed without doing it much.
yeah, I've ground down my foward controls almost to the center bolt on both sides. used to scrape the bottom pipe at the bend by the controls until I put the 21" tire on the front now I only scrape the rear tip of my fender. Initially I would scrape my boot but when I scraped the heel all the way down to the leather and found out it was more expensive to repair/replace the boots then it was to replace the pegs I decided to let the pegs scrape and move my feet. Will have to get new pegs here soon when I grind through that center bolt. Hell I ground them down a bit more today when I was doing some slow speed maneuvering.
I would be careful about letting your heel drag. I friend of mine did just that had ended up breaking his ankle when it caught on something in the turn.

If I drag my thunderheader one more time I think there will be a large hole in it. It's now a big flat oval at the low point bend and mighty thin & rough. Hope there's a fix, (bound to happen)
there's a real sharp right down the block from my house and a looooooooong sweeping highway exit ramp that i normally take at around 50 or so and i haven't dragged anything.
i'm leaning far enough to make the turns by far but no bike parts have touched down...
I have owned 4 sport bikes, 1 of these I laid down in turn. I am on my 3rd harley and the other day I dragged the peg on my forward controls on my 2010 Wide Glide for the first time. On my 2007 Street Bob I used to drag my foot if I didnt have my foot postitioned right, but I never scraped a peg. I used to drag my pipe on certain types of turns on that Street Bob, but there is nothing that will let a little turd slip out like when you hear the grind of a peg in a turn! All I could think of was that raked out front end washing out and into the woods I go.
just picked up an 05 lowrider and I've been laughing my **** off for the last 3 days! they aren't kidding when they say LOWrider! I need to slow down a little bit in the corners... funny that my old street glide could tip way farther in the corners before touch down.
