Default Fuel Gauge Question

Newbie here. I just got a ’06 Dyna Wide Glide a couple of months ago. I was out riding this weekend and after parking the bike on the street for about an hour, I noticed that my fuel gauge was not completely recessed into the tank. It looked like somebody had twisted it or tried to pull it out. I pushed in back in and it seems to be working – but should I take it to the dealer to get checked out? Thanks. [:@]

The fuel gauge just pops into the tank. It should not be loose or twisted. If you do remove it you simply pull up on it. I would not worry about it unless it does it again some people have had loose ones not many but a few have.

Mine does the same thing. Its annoying, but hasn't caused any problems other than pissing me off that H-D continues to sell us cheap crap...

What everyone else said..no worries. But I'll say this...if it bothers you, it's certainly a good excuse to pick up the new HD flush mount gauge/gas cap. I see both in the catalog for about 200 bucks.
