07 FXD High Engine RPM

Does anyone else experience this? When you first start up with a cold engine the RPM's are very high for about 5 sec then down to a norm idle speed. Even after a long ride and the bikes sets for a few hrs it still acts the same way.

That's normal

Its in the new owner's manual for a 2009 FXDC. At first start revs then idles down, just as Grendel says to get the oil circulating pronto.

You know, every piece of advice you get here means you have to let one biker out of a speeding ticket!
