Default Got an oil question

Hey guys, my bike was just delivered to me here in the UK. Before it left the States I had to drain the engine oil. I was using Amsoil but can't seem to find it here but they sell the Royal Purple synthetic motorcycle oil on base for about $15 a quart. Is that stuff any good? Also, my service manual seems to have been misplaced during the move. Is 20W50 the right weight of oil? Thanks.

Royal Purple is not my first choice, but if that is readily available, you will be fine. I use to use it.
Yes 20W50 is good for Engine and Primary.

Royal Purple is good, I've run it but always go back to Mobil 1 since I can find it at the local Autozone.

20w50 is the correct weight but make sure you're buying either V-Twin oil or oil formulated for air cooled engines.

lots of folks swear by it, but even if it was just good enough what choice would you have? Gotta use what you can get!

Hi nkauf hope you,re settling in well. It seems by the good weather we,ve been having you may have brought a little bit of the USA with you Lol. You can buy Amsoil and Redline plus a host of other oils from Opie oils. At present they have free shipping on orders over Ł30 until May 4th i have purchased from them recently for Amsoil and Redline for the tranny and the service is very good. http://www.opieoils.co.uk/

Thanks for that link, I'll check it out. I forgot to ask, do I need 5 or 6 quarts?

You only need about 2.5 quarts per oil change. (And a filter, of course)
