I had the SE 180 put on today. Should it be even in the fender? It's a lot closer to rubbing on the right side than the left. Is it supposed to be that way?

Ya the rear wheel isnt centered with the fender its just more noticable with the 180.
I have the SE 180 on my bike. The gap on both sides of my tire feels about the same, no noticeable difference. I believe the indy who put it on did some shimming to center it.
That seems to far off to me. Sometimes those dips that you don't see can hit pretty hard on the rear tire, just don't want the tire digging into the fender or wiring brackets under the rear fender causing any kind of control issues. Talk to the people who put it on and tell them your concern and see what they say. It's up to you to make sure your bike is safe to ride. Not sure about Harleys not centering rear tires, I've never noticed, but I've only had a Harley since 2006. Your the one hitting the asphault if something happens. This is just my opinion. Ride safe !
I can't get a finger in between on the left side, right side I can easily. I'm afraid it's gonna rub.
Take your fender off. Put a cheater pipe on your fender strut and push the left side outward until you have moved it a bit. Do the same to the right fender moving it inward. Check the fender for fitment and adjust accordingly.
Harley hasn't been able to center the wheel under the fender in over 100 years. If you actually center it everyone will know......
I love that! Fortunately on one of my bikes they got it right. I fitted a 150 to my old Glide and it is just about dead centre, which is just as well as there ain't much room left. So Harley did get it right occasionally!
I was looking at the instructions for the wide tire kit on HD's site and they show that you should loosen the front and rear motor mounts to adjust the rear tire for clearance. Anyone tried this?
