Between samson street sweepers and v&h big shot staggered
Dyna Glide ModelsSuper Glide, Super Glide Sport, Super Glide Custom, Dyna Glide Convertible, Super Glide T-Sport, Dyna Glide Police, Dyna Switchback, Low Rider, Street Bob, Fat Bob and Wide Glide.
I've never had the Samson's before but I had ShortShots on my 883C and they sounded GREAT, now I have the BigShots Staggered on my low rider and I couldn't be happier. They are LOUD, but obnoxious shmoxious...
My wife has a 06 FXDL with sampsons,, went to Bike Week (Vegas) talked to Sampson Rep, said they would replace the Pipes, ship them to us back home, got home they said that they could not replace them for my wifes bike.. the weld broke on the chrome shield, making the bike run really bad, I REFUSE TO ENDORSE sampson's pipes,, I RUN V&H LONGSHOTS ON MY FXDWG 2006..

How does a broken heat shield make the bike run bad ?

errrr....pump the brakes...
there aren't any welds on the heat shields...
do you mean the weld for the tab inside the heat shield that the clamp slips through?
bike wouldn't run bad, maybe just noisy with a rattling heat shield.
Thanks for all the info guys I think I have a much better idea now. I guess it's what I suspected from reading all the old thread I could find about these pipes, seems that there's some complaints about the samson pipes and I haven't seen the same for V&H so I'm probably going to end up going with the big shots. jss - wanted to say thanks for the pics of your bike with the ends turned, I checked them out on your profile, bike looks great man, and I'll be glad to know I'll have the choice to turn them out if I want. The only thing I liked more about the street sweepers is how they turned out and down at the end, sure are some bada$$ lookin pipes. I'll probably go with the quiet baffles out of the gate because when I start my bike at 5AM don't want the whole friggin block pissed off, not a problem now with my stock pipes, sounds like a scooter starting up. Well thanks again if anybody has somethin to add feel free, won't be buying anything for a few days. I'll post up some pics after I get em, now I got to figure out fuel pack or pcV? Damn bike causing me to think.
