Thumbs up Swapping out PCV for TTS

Going for a dyno tune at the Cycle Doctor in Costa Mesa, they told me TTS works a lot better than the PCV, can't wait to see the results.

From what I've been reading is that you pretty much won't need to dyno tune with the TTS as it will create an optimized map w/ your assistance.

TTS is certainly better, tuners like the extra programming control and predictability, but by a lot over a dyno tuned PCV... I dunno.... unless one or two MPG, HP, or ftlb torque is a lot to you.

It will be an interesting seat of the pants comparison, however.

What kinda power is it making now? Whats the price difference between the TTS and PCV? I've got a PCV and very happy with it. If it only make a little difference is it really worth the money?

The tts is not a piggyback system. it overwrites to the ecm directly. You can tune it yourself.

(yes, I've been doing oodles of research and the more I read, the more I want one.)

I just read a story on hotbike.web where they used a tts on a custom build. They then used the vtune software to tune it. Afterwards they put the bike on the dyno for further tuning. They were only able to get +1hp out of it which means the vtune software worked perfectly as it should have.

Vic -

You should also take a look at ThunderMax with Auto Tune ... does pretty much the same thing ... not sure how they compare price-wise ....

Got a pretty good deal on my T-Max from a forum member who was taking it off to install TTS, though ... so, maybe that says something .... (So I'm pretty sure I paid less than TTS costs ....)

(He said the tuner he is using doesn't know how to tune T-Max, but can tune a TTS ....)

I've been following several threads regarding both, including your's. You should see my shopping list when I become one of the employed again.

I don't think the value of Dyno tuning with the TTS is necessarily hp & tq. I gained a little in that area, but not enough to warrant the $500 price tag. What I did gain is a great hp & tq curve, no pinging, just smooth steady power all the way. As long as I am above say 2700 rpm I can just pin the throttle and the bike does what it is supposed to do.

If your dyno guy prefers a certain tuner, then it's probably worth the swap for best results.

Great looking bike, Bikepusher! What rear shocks are you using?

That can get pretty costly, don't ya think?

I mean what if we transfer that idea onto an auto-mechanic who prefers to work on mercedes but you own a chevy. Does that mean you have to sell the chevy and buy a mercedes?s
