I think that hthis is the same guy who complained that he'd been banned from this list under two other names. Looks like a troll...walks like a troll...smell like a sh*tpile. Art
Not sure whether you are talking about me, or the guy who attacked me with his first post. Regardless, if my post was confusing (as far as the intent), I would just like to say that I never would have imagined that Dyna riders would hear the same B.S. Sporty riders hear. I think it is funny, because I have read a lot of threads like this. Funny as in “entertaining”, not to ridicule. I am proud of what I ride, and always have been. Please, feel free to do the same.

I wish I had a picture of it but I have a buddy who is 6'4, big, covered from head (literally) to toe in tatoos looks meaer than a rabid dog. (He is not, actually he is a sweetheart). He rides an 883 sportser, like a '79 I believe.

You think he gives a CRAP what people think? He is young, unsteadily employed and its all he can afford, but he has a bike. I have seen him flop at friend's house to friend's house and he has spent more than enough time at my dinner table just to keep fed but he won't ever give up his "girly bike".

I got into bikes as a kid because one of my dad's childhood friend was in the Warlocks motorcycle gang. As I kid I didn't know some of the implications of that, all I knew was that every birthday, Christmas, you name it and my dad's riends would be there on bikes to help me celebrate. At my first Holy Communion I had a caravan of the coolest looking motorcylces as an escourt from the church to my party. Those guys were always there for me during my formative years and I got to ride on the back of all kinds of chopped out bikes, alot of them sportsters and low-riders. These guys rode what they could afford, made them their own and never made apologies for what their bike wasn't.

I have always wanted an older low-rider because back then they were my favorite to ride. There is no such thing as a "girls" bike or a "boys" bike. There is something far more visceral and intimate in choosing the bike that is right for you and those that inisist otrherwise are usually using what they ride to replace what they are lacking between the legs.

Its all about the ride.

Angel, if your buddy's name is Randy, its the same guy. My buddy is 6'4, huge, rides a 883, and is the greatest guy you would ever want to meet. No one would ever diss him about his Sporty. As I said he is huge!!!

Actually, my buddy's name is Buddy, lol. His real name is Olhoff, so I don't think they are the same guy. But it just goes to show you, there is never any shame in what you ride!

I've had FXR's, fxdwg, then a RK, now an 03 FXSTDSE and out of them all I can honestly say that the dyna WG handled better than them all.
I don't understand why a FXDWG with it's rake and frame would handle better than an FXR. I have owned both. My FXR was pretty close in handling to my sporty.

I loved my Honda when I rode it, loved my Suzuki when I rode it, and now I love my 04 Super glide when I ride it. My worst day on a motorcycle was better than my best day without one. Ride a Harley....any Harley...and ride it often!!

Mike,

I must agree with you. The FXR is probably the best handling bike HD has made, also one of the smoothest.

Regards,

Bill

If someone talks bad about a Sportster, they really don't know what they're talking about. Sportys are really great bikes!! Then why didn't I get one? Good question,....I guess when I saw my Dyna, I just knew that was the scooter for me. I would ride a sporty ANY TIME!!! Contrary to what anybody says, Sportys ARE Harley-Davidson, how could you say they're not? They're made in the Harley Davidson plant, by good, honest, Union, AMERICAN workers!!!!!!!

If you ride a sporty, and someone talks **** , ignore them, if i was there, I'd tell them they're just plain ****ed up!

As for talking **** about my Dyna....How?????? I have an 88 cu.in. big twin motor? I used to ride a metric chopper, and I loved it, so maybe I got a thick skin, but I know that no matter what you do, somebody's not gonna like you....I have to admit though, I would kinda enjoy watching a few 1% er's , some "81's" beat the **** out of some fella that thinks only Softtails count......

Just shut the **** up and ride, be friends, and enjoy the ride!!! I'll see ya out there!

Harley is a family, we all got one for different reasons, different styles, differenct prices and all that. It comes down to the fact we all love HD's and what they represent to us. Be a part of the family, enjoy the ride and when someone comments on your bike just say "thanks". It'll blow their mind! It's a Harley man, not a bad one in the bunch.

I ride an FXR3..the bike based on the pre-Dyna design.

I stand 6'1" and go 270.

Does the bike look small under me? A little. Can I throw it around better than all of my friends' Deuces & Fatboys? You betcha.

Do I give a flying f*ck what anyone else thinks?

Nope.

Each time I hear someone bad-mouthing another's bike, I have to wonder why they feel the need to justify their own choices.
